VBDC Welcome Party
Be sure to come early and enjoy a great welcome party! Your admission actually gives you entry to two dances- so feel free to go back and forth between the Main Ballroom and The Dance Club. We are bringing two special DJ's for this event. Dance Club opens at 7pm for the shag dance. The Junior ballroom opens at 7pm for a beginner Shag group class with Jack Witzenfeld. The Main Ballroom opens at 7:30pm for a Nightclub 2-Step group class with Martin Smith followed by the ballroom dance.
Admission is free for all VBDC participants and $15pp for all others.

ABSC DJ Gary U.S. Barnes
Gary is a member of the Association of Beach and Shag Club DJ’s, Member of the Virginia Shaggers Hall of Fame (2008), Member of the National Living Legends of Dance (2013), and a member of the Virginia Beach Shag Club. Gary is a much sought after DJ in the region and Gary is the DJ for our weekly Shag dance each Friday in the Virginia Beach Shag Club.
Main Ballroom
DJ Peter Collins
Peter Collins is a nationally-known ballroom dance champion, ballroom dance coach, and an accomplished music director and music provider for ballroom dance competitions throughout the United States, Canada and overseas. He has done national and major regional events for the NDCA, Arthur Murray, Fred Astaire, USA Dance, and the collegiate circuit. He was the DJ for the world-famous Rainbow Rom atop Rockefeller Center in New Your City.
Drinks (wine, beer, or soft drinks) and snacks are included!
